The Local Area

Surrounded by orchards, you can venture along the Wye Valley Walk, Offa's Dyke or one of the many bridleways from the village. You can launch canoes from the inlet next door to the grounds where there is a small gravel area when the river is low. We can arrange fishing permits for you, and if you wish to hire a canoe we can provide you with details of a local canoe hire company who can arrange transport and routes to suit. Visit the historic City of Hereford, explore Hay-on-Wye, the town of books, or discover the magnificent Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park.

Within the local area the is a great farm shop with a butchery, deli and restaurant plus the Portway Inn serving good food. Slightly further away is the Stagg restaurant in Titley and the Tram at Eardisley, both great places to eat. There are outdoor pursuits such as walking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, riding, cycling & climbing close by. Explore by car the stunning scenery which varies from rolling hills and orchards, to mountains, forests, waterfalls & dams. There are also many castles, gardens, manor houses and ancient churches as well as local artists & craft makers to visit.

A perfectly located, romantic Herefordshire hideaway with something to offer all year round.
